Saint Nicholas? Who doesn't know him? The gingerbread nuts have been in the shops for weeks (or months). Web shops bombard you with offers for Christmas Eve. Children count how many nights of sleep they have left until the Big Day. Since the saintly man's arrival, the madness has reached its peak. Many shoes have already been placed under the chimney. Thousands of wish lists have been completed, so that Santa knows what to buy.

Santa can't handle all this hustle and bustle on his own and gets help from his sales staff. They work hard to sell as much as possible. And they work a lot of overtime to ensure everything runs smoothly. Are you a sales person? Then take advantage of this Sinterklaas madness by playing Sinterklaas yourself! We hear you thinking: “how?” With these tips you can play for Sinterklaas!

1. Throw something in my shoe

Sinterklaas Kapoentje, throw something in my shoe, throw something in my boot, thank you, Sinterklaasje. In other words: give away small gifts to your customers. You can think of a tasty chocolate bar with a personalized label. Or how about a power bank with your company logo on it? There are many options to put a smile on the recipient's face.

2. The salesman's bag

Why is Santa Claus so popular? Because he gives out presents to everyone. As a sales person, you can't just give away presents to everyone, because then the company no longer exists and you can immediately get on the boat back to Spain. What a sales person can do, of course, is the following: give the sales person the bag. What we mean by this is that you offer a discount. For example, give a discount when a company purchases a large quantity. Or offer free shipping if the order value exceeds X amount

3. Keep the Big Book yourself

Santa really knows everything about everyone. He knows exactly what you've done over the past year. He doesn't know this because he has such a good memory. No, he writes everything down in his Big Book and that's why he doesn't forget anything. As a sales professional, you can also apply this principle. Call your customers regularly to ask how things are going. Listen carefully to what customers say and write down important events in your book. The next time you call, refer to the things you wrote down. Customers will be surprised that you know so much and will appreciate that you show genuine interest. So by keeping track of the Big Book yourself, you can also play Sinterklaas!

4. Who's knocking there, children?

Hear who's knocking there, children, hear who's knocking there, children? Every evening during Christmas Eve, the big question is: what time will Santa come? Is that at half past six, seven o'clock or at half past ten? Every year the saintly man unexpectedly knocks on the door and this creates a surprise effect.

As a sales person, you can play Santa Claus by unexpectedly visiting customers. Stop by on a weekday for a cup of coffee and take a gift from the bag to surprise your customer. Inquire about how things are going and make good use of the information from the Big Book.
