Do you remember those sometimes stupid mistakes you made in your life? That as a child you bump into a sliding glass door because you didn't see that it was closed. Or as a teenager you were once again not paying attention in class and gave some strange answer to the teacher's question. Or that as an adult you make yet another mistake at work...! In this blog we tell you what making mistakes and personality profiles have in common.

You learn from making mistakes

One thing is certain, we all make mistakes and that's a good thing... because you have to learn from your mistakes. If you didn't make mistakes in life, you wouldn't develop yourself and you wouldn't learn anything new.

As a child you try things out and things go wrong. You learn from that. You develop yourself into the adult you will become later. One person is eager to learn and wants to try everything, while the other is very reserved and prefers to crawl into a corner so as not to be noticed. Every person is different and every person is very important in his or her own way, especially in a team. You need different (type of) colleagues in every department within a company to put together the perfect team.

So you have people who can make decisions easily, people who are good at motivating and inspiring, people who are good at mediating or people who observe. These are all different characteristics that people possess to a greater or lesser extent. That makes people interesting and useful, because if you know how to put the right people in one team you can achieve great business results.

Your personality profile shows how you deal with different situations

Where people work, mistakes are made. To make mistakes is human and everyone deals with making mistakes differently. One person panics completely and blocks completely. While the other person handles it very nonchalantly and quickly corrects the mistake. How is it possible that everyone deals with making mistakes differently? This has to do with the different personality types. Your personality type determines how you usually react, think and act based on certain preferences.

Do you want to know how you deal with different situations? A personality profile gives you more insight into yourself and makes you aware of your strengths and pitfalls. The Insights Discovery wheel is a color model that tells a lot about someone's personality.

The model consists of 4 main colors: blue, green, yellow and red. The model distinguishes 8 types in total and each type has its own preferences, strengths and weaknesses. Every person has each of the 4 main colors and the combination of the colors reflects your unique personality.

A personality profile therefore provides insight into yourself and how you deal with different situations. It not only provides insight into yourself, it also provides more insight into others. It also ensures greater mutual understanding among colleagues.
